Steven R. Cotner, President
Mr. Cotner was an Undercover Narcotics Investigator in the mid 70’s working both
in the public and private sectors. In 1977, he joined his late father, Richard D.
Cotner and created Corporate Intelligence Consultants. Steven Cotner has received
extensive training from internationally recognized experts in the area of Electronic
Countermeasures. He has been providing this bug detection service for corporate
clients since 1980. Throughout his career at CIC, Cotner has taught numerous seminars
on Loss Prevention and Investigating Thefts. He is a graduate from Owens College
in Law Enforcement and Bowling Green State University in Criminal Justice. Cotner
is a board member for the Perrysburg YMCA, a member of the University of Toledo
Family Business Center, the American Society for Industrial Security, the Perrysburg
Rotary, the World Association of Detectives and the Ohio Association of Security
and Investigation Services. In 2005 Mr. Cotner was appointed by Governor Taft to
serve on the Ohio Private Investigation and Security Services Commission. Commissioner
Cotner was chosen to chair the Private Investigation subcommittee.

John R. Patrick, PSP
Mr. Patrick joined CIC in 1992 and has in excess of thirty years of law enforcement
and private security experience. As a former security manager and consultant with
several Fortune 500 companies, he has had responsibility for developing and managing
proactive and reactive security programs from plant to corporate level. Patrick’s
knowledge and expertise in health care security, small and large business risk management
and international security significantly enhance CIC’s ability to offer a diversity
of services. John holds a Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice Administration from
the University of Toledo.

Paul M. Johnson
Mr. Johnson joined CIC in 1993 and has in excess of thirty years experience in security
and law enforcement. As a former chief of campus police of a medical college Johnson
brings knowledge and expertise in hospital security, contract security, crime prevention
and investigation and disaster preparedness. Johnson holds a Bachelors Degree in
Business Administration from the University of Toledo and is a current member of
the National Association of Drug Diversion Investigators. Johnson has taught numerous
seminars in crime and security awareness, rape awareness, drug diversion and workplace
violence. Johnson is also a member of the Ohio Disaster Medical Assistance Team
responsible for the safety and security of the team.

Dennis R. Austin
Mr. Austin joined CIC in 1995, as an Investigator in the Special Investigations
Unit. His expertise is in the area of video technology and surveillance primarily
in workers’ compensation fraud, insurance and a GPS tracking device. Austin expanded
CIC’s services with the addition of two electronic tracker systems to enhance mobile
surveillance. Prior to joining CIC, Austin was a manager of Loss Prevention for
a large retail chain.

William E. Boden
Mr. Boden joined CIC in 1995 as a retired Sergeant with the Perrysburg Police Department
for over twenty-two years. Additionally Boden served as the Commander of Private
Security Training for Stautzenberger College. Boden holds a Bachelor’s Degree in
Criminal Justice from the University of Toledo and has received extensive training
in accident investigation reconstruction from Northwestern University, the University
of South Florida and the Ohio State Highway Patrol Academy.

Richard B. Johnson
Mr. Johnson joined CIC in 1997 with over thirty years of government service retiring
as a special agent with the IRS Criminal Division. Johnson’s area of expertise concerns
investigative matters relating to financial transactions and tracing the flow of
funds. Johnson holds an accounting degree from the University of Toledo and is a
Certified Public Accountant. Johnson is a current member of the International Association
of Financial Crime Investigators and Associates for Crime Prevention.

Blaine Grant
Mr. Grant joined CIC in 2001 with over thirty years of experience in industrial/retail
security and law enforcement. Grant is on the board of directors for the Northwest
Ohio Safety Council and is a member of the Toledo Chapter of the American Society
for Industrial Security.

Dennis A. Dauer
Mr. Dauer joined CIC in 2004 as a retired Chief of Police with the Perrysburg Township
Police Department. During his 37 year of Law Enforcement, he has served as a Road
Patrolman, Criminal Investigator and 20 plus years as a Detective Sergeant. Mr.
Dauer has many years of experience with various types of cases that include: crime
scene processing, arson, drug investigation and surveillance with local and Federal
agencies. He has Co-Coordinator numerous task force operations.

Richard D. Cotner
Mr. Cotner, co-founder of CIC in 1977 with his son Steven was previously head of
the Internal Revenue Service, Criminal Investigation Division in Toledo, Ohio and
the agent in charge for sixteen years on various government Strike Force assignments
throughout the Midwest. He directed intensive criminal investigations on organized
crime figures, political corruption, labor racketeering and complex gambling syndicates.
Mr. Cotner was an intricate member of CIC’s team until his death in November 1998.
