Pre-Employment Screening
Hiring good employees requires that a company or organization has access to accurate and timely data. Pre-employment screening, often known as background checks, delivered by experienced investigators can help human resource managers hire the right person for the job.
Background investigations are crucial to the hiring process. Research shows:
- 53% of job applicants falsify employment applications
Source: Society for Human Resource Managers - 11% of job applicants misrepresent why they left a former employer
Source: Resume Inflation: Two Wrongs May Mean No Rights - 30% of business failures are due to poor hiring practices
Source: U.S. Chamber of Commerce
Corporate Intelligence Consultants’ national and international background investigations employ web-based technology, countrywide research of court and municipal records, and personal telephone inquiries. Our experienced investigative team offers customized and thorough pre-employment screening.

- Past Address HistoryPast Address History
Using a name and social security number, a past address history search retrieves information where a subject has lived in the past 3 to 10 years. The most effective way of using this tool is to take all the addresses displayed and find out their associated states and counties. Once you have this information, you can begin to run some of the most basic but powerful searches for criminal records; the county and statewide criminal searches. - County Criminal Record SearchCounty Criminal Record Search
This is one of the most important tools for uncovering records available. Because law enforcement must report charges resulting from arrests on felonies, misdemeanors and other offenses, the county criminal search is conducted at the county level where a subject is most likely to have any information filed. Corporate Intelligence is one of the few screening companies who use actual researchers who handpick information from courthouses. *Some court fees may apply. - Civil Records SearchCivil Records Search
Filed by individuals or corporations against other private parties or corporations. Civil history records provide information about: divorce, product liability suites, violation of civil rights, judgments, nonpayment of goods and other similar cases. These cases are searched per jurisdiction or county and per name. *Some court fees may apply. - Driving History ReportDriving History Report
Covers driving records in all fifty states. These reports can include records of: driving while intoxicated, revoked license, accidents, or minor traffic violations. Because driving records are held in state bureaus that have access to all counties in the state and sometimes other states, they can be very useful for general screening purposes. - Credit ReportCredit Report

An applicant\'s Workers\' Compensation history should be requested after a job offer has been made to the applicant. - Drug Screening - Hair TestDrug Screening - Hair Test
Is a hair testing process in which hair specimens are analyzed for illegal drugs. When a drug is ingested, it enters the blood stream and is broken down to a specific metabolite. When a hair sample is screened, both the parent drug and the metabolite are isolated. If the sample screens positive, it is forwarded to the GC/MS laboratory for confirmation. All screens are confirmed using GC/MS. *Photo Identification is required on the day of the testing. - Sex Offender Database SearchSex Offender Database Search
Records are pulled from 44 state sex offender registries. Thirty-nine of these states may include a picture of the offender. This search may not contain 100% of the sex offenders in each state. - Secondary Research DatabaseSecondary Research Database
